Midsummer, but it continues to be cool. A fire in the wood stove is a must at night. Splitting wood is fun for a change.

Dr. Spong's beloved June Cove running at full throttle. Travel back and forth between Hanson and Cracroft Islands, shopping excursions to Alert Bay are all conducted by boat--thanks to us Dr. Spong is constantly on the go.

Our first orca welcome. Gazing at the orcas glide past the lab, you lose sense of yourself for a moment. We hear their calls everyday. Can't wait to share this with the rest of the world!

As soon as the orcas appear outside the lab, Dr. Spong and assistants are there as well.
